Henry Berges, Locust Hill Farmer Who Died Tuesday, Will Be Buried Friday
—Henry Samuel Berges of north of Locust Hill died unexpectedly at his home at 8:45 o'clock Tuesday morning, Feb. 25, 1964. He came to Knox County when a young man.
—The body was brought to the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home here where it will remain until noon tomorrow, Friday. It will then be taken to the Locust Hill Community Church, of which he was a member, to lie in state until the funeral services at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Frank Barnett of Memphis will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
—Mr. Berges leaves his wife, the former Fannie Mae Mitchell whom he married Sept. 5, 1926, in Novelty, two brothers: Howard Berges of Burlington, Wyo., and Lawrence Berges of near Rutledge, and a sister, Frances, Mrs. William Lindsey, of Thermapolis, Wyo. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
—One of the five children of William Henry and Verdelia Jane Duffey Berges, he was born Aug. 7, 1901, in McDonough County, Ill. He came to this county with his family and was a farmer and had lived in the Locust Hill vicinity many years.
—He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother, 44 years before his father who died Jan. 1, 1952, and a brother, William Hugh Berges, July 21, 1953.
